Jinny Kang is a counseling practicum intern at Martin Counseling with a strong passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, build self-understanding, and move toward meaningful personal growth. She is committed to creating a supportive, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences at their own pace.
Jinny holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lamar University. As a developing counselor, Jinny values ongoing learning, self-reflection, and supervision as essential parts of providing ethical and effective care.
Jinny is open to working with individuals from all backgrounds, identities, and life stages, and they approach each client with empathy, curiosity, and cultural humility. She believes that every person’s story is unique and deserves to be met with compassion and respect. She views the counseling relationship as a collaborative process and strives to empower clients by recognizing their strengths, resilience, and capacity for change.
