Angelica Tovar is a passionate and dedicated graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Houston Christian University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Universidad Catolica Andres Bello. She brings a diverse background in case management, community-based services, parenting guidance, children’s development and psychoeducational group work. Having lived in different countries and worked with individuals from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Angelica values the role that culture, community, family, identity and lived experience have in each person’s story. She is especially interested in working with children, adolescents and adults with a focus on self-awareness, emotional regulation, migrational grief, relational and identity growth. She deeply values play-based interventions, expressive-arts interventions and any resource that supports the client’s own “language”. Angelica offers counseling in English and Spanish and is deeply interested in supporting client’s own goals and growth through their counseling process.
