Sonia De Pass, M. Ed., LPC Intern

Sonia was born in the Caribbean and raised in Brooklyn New York. She later relocated to the south where she lived and earned her undergrad in Child and Family Studies from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. For the last 10 years, Sonia has made Houston her home earning a master’s degree with the University of Houston-Victoria’s Clinical Mental Health program.  Sonia’s goal is to bring support to individuals, couples, and families who seek healthier and more fulfilling lives.

During her post-graduate internship, Sonia used play and group counseling techniques to help children cope with divorce and family issues, low self-esteem, and a variety of anxiety/anger/behavioral challenges.  Sonia has also provided adult counseling services to clients using both individual and couples counseling therapies. Sonia sees counseling as a collaborative process unique to each individual client.  It is at this unique point-in-time, where the counselor can connect with the needs of the client to help them achieve their goals. Sonia works with clients dealing with abuse, grief and loss, life transitions, reaching life goals, communication skills, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. Sonia is a licensed Professional Counselor Intern and is supervised by David Bueno Martin, MA, LPC-S.
